Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Penn State Children’s Hospital invites applications and nominations for the position of Division Chief, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized academic leader with a substantial record of leadership, clinical and administrative accomplishments, education scholarship and/or research productivity and teaching experience. We are seeking candidates with prior administrative and leadership experience gained within a Department of Pediatrics, strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively inspire, manage, mentor and develop faculty and staff. Candidates must hold the degree of MD, DO, or equivalent, or MD/PhD, be Board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and possess qualifications for appointment.
The division is supported by one of the biggest student-run philanthropies in the United States, THON, and by Four Diamonds. THON provides the major funding for Four Diamonds (70% annually). More than $168 million has been raised for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital since 1972.
The Four Diamonds Pediatric Oncology Research Center is supported by >$70M in research endowments developed from 1999 to the present.
The division has programs in pediatric stem cell transplantation, experimental therapeutics, neuro-oncology, AYA oncology, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, hemostasis and thrombosis, and survivorship.
The Division has been recognized by US News and World Report as one of the leading pediatric oncology programs in the country since 2012.
