The Director of the Women’s Lung Health Center will establish and grow a multidisciplinary initiative to provide gender-specific expertise for women with a range of pulmonary conditions, in collaboration with the Center for Specialized Women’s Health, Department of Maternal-Fetal medicine, and several other clinical institutes. Research focused on sex and respiratory disease, as well as education of trainees, will be integral to the mission of the Center. The Director will to work closely with investigators in the Respiratory Institute and the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute (LRI), who are focusing on innovative studies on sex as a biological variable in asthma, pulmonary vascular diseases, heart diseases and many other areas.

The Department is particularly interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The successful candidate will also be nominated for a faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM) of Case Western Reserve University at a rank commensurate with experience of Associate or Full Professor level. CCLCM is a five-year program that trains medical students to become physician investigators, integrating basic science, research and clinical medicine.
