Chief Scientific Officer, Center for Addiction Science, Wellbridge Addiction Treatment and Research and Department of Psychiatry Zucker Hillside Hospital, New Hyde Park, NY.
The Department of Psychiatry at Zucker Hillside Hospital (ZHH) is seeking to recruit an experienced and qualified researcher to serve in a leadership role as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at The Institute of Behavioral Health and the Wellbridge Addiction Treatment Facility.
The Chief Scientific Officer will work collaboratively with world renowned researchers at The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research and hold a key leadership position responsible for the development and implementation of innovative research programs focused on substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. The CSO will work collaboratively with The Feinstein Institutes and Wellbridge leadership, to inspire a seamless partnership between scientists and clinicians at both organizations in order to innovate and transform the latest discoveries in addiction research.
The Institute for Behavioral Sciences leads the nation in research into intervention and services for severe mental health disorders. The institute runs a number of clinical trials not only to standardize outcome measurements in psychiatric research, but to ensure the translation of research into clinical practice.
At the heart of the institute is the Zucker Hillside Hospital, known for its pioneering clinical, teaching and research programs. The National Institute of Mental Health has established a Clinical Research Center for the Study of Schizophrenia at Zucker Hillside Hospital, one of only four such facilities nationwide.
Wellbridge is an innovative addiction treatment center established on the principles that the treatment of addiction must be based on solid scientific evidence. With a 6,000-square-foot research pavilion on its campus, Wellbridge will bridge the gap between research and the application of this research to patient care. Wellbridge extends its services and ensures the highest quality of addiction care through its partnership with Northwell Health, providing collaboration on research, specialized care services, and the opportunity to educate and train future addiction practitioners in coordination with The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
