The Department of Radiation Medicine at Northwell Health seeks a board-certified radiation oncologist as Chairman, Radiation Oncology to join our growing multidisciplinary program in Staten Island. This is an exciting time to join our team as the Radiation Oncology program continues to develop and grow throughout Northwell Health.
The Department of Radiation Medicine is one of the largest in the NY metro area treating >275 patients daily. The residency program is recognized by Doximity as the second ranked program in NY State. We are well- as having developed a novel safety culture framed around Smarter Radiation Oncology®. The candidate for this position will be highly proficient in all aspects of external beam radiotherapy, image guidance and brachytherapy. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience preferably at the associate or professor level. The role will be clinical (with a practice on Staten Island) and time set aside for administrative responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on clinical growth, operational management, research and education.
The Department of Radiation Medicine is part of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, which treats more than 16,000 patients with cancer, giving patients access to the services of more than 200 Cancer Institute physicians in more than 25 sub-specialties. The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research is home to Northwell Health’s research and is an epicenter for scientific discovery and innovation, including basic science and clinical research in molecular medicine, genetics, oncology, brain research, mental health, autoimmunity, and bioelectronic medicine. In 2015, Northwell Health and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory began a strategic affiliation to accelerate cancer research, diagnosis and treatment. This collaboration offers the ability to deliver cancer therapeutics to patients throughout the region, while also meeting the comprehensive medical and surgical needs of those with cancer and at risk of the disease.
