The Building Maintenance Mechanic has demonstrated an excellent working knowledge of hospital systems, can be relied upon to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on most building systems, and is capable of independent troubleshooting and repair.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Clean Mechanical rooms, pick up and deliver parts and assist other mechanics as required/directed.
Perform basic calculations and conversions, and safety duties as a fire watch.
Perform basic maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Process hot work permits.
Fill out paperwork including but not limited to work orders, inventory, and preventive maintenance forms.
Assist qualified mechanic with installing, connecting, and testing complete drain, waste, and vent systems.
Assist qualified mechanic with installing, electrical items as requested by supervisor.
Assist supervisor with locating, installing, connecting, and testing water supply piping, repair fixtures, valves and faucets.
Assist with installing basic plumbing fixtures, including bathtubs, shower stalls, lavatories, sinks, water closets, urinals, and related valves and faucets.
Training of other personnel in the proper operation and maintenance of hospital equipment and systems.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
