The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo is seeking two board certified or board eligible OB/GYN generalists for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Most recent figures show 36,000+ patient visits per year, approximately 400 gynecologic surgeries annually, and 2,400 annual deliveries. With the groundbreaking for the School of Veterinary Medicine, Amarillo will be the only city in the county with a medical school, pharmacy school, and veterinary school on a single campus.
Duties would include supervision and teaching of residents and medical students, 2-3 days per week in resident and private clinics, labor and delivery coverage, gynecologic surgery, and in-house night call 4-5 times a month. In house call is spread equally among all faculty and faculty receive additional compensation.
The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to provide clinical care and lead innovative change in a diverse clinical practice. Independent and/or collaborative research is encouraged but not required.
